Singer Island isn't a restaurant row. Most of the island is condominium towers, hotels and homes, and its public restaurants gather in a few places: the marina end of Palm Beach Shores at the south tip, the stretch of Ocean Avenue beside Riviera Beach Municipal Beach, and resort dining rooms on the oceanfront. When residents want more choice, many of them cross to the mainland.
This guide covers seven places across those three areas. Each card says what the place is best for, where it is and what to check before you go. The official site is the final word on hours, menus and events.

The Buccaneer Waterfront Bar & Grill
Best for: a waterfront dinner in Palm Beach Shores

- Chef Paul Niedermann leads the kitchen; the restaurant says he was the season 9 winner of Hell's Kitchen on Fox. It describes itself as a steak and seafood restaurant, on the water.

Sailfish Marina
Best for: breakfast, lunch or dinner with the boats in view
- Why go
- A waterfront restaurant at a working marina. The resort says it serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with views of the boats.
- Where
- 98 Lake Drive, Palm Beach Shores, on the lagoon side of the south end.
- Good to know
- The gift shop sells frozen shrimp and bait to toss to the jacks and other fish off the dock. The marina is also home to a sportfishing charter fleet and a water taxi that runs to Peanut Island and on a 90-minute narrated tour.

ONA Coastal Cuisine
Best for: a sit-down dinner at an oceanfront resort

Johnny Longboats
Best for: a casual seafood meal by the public beach

- A flip-flop-friendly spot, in its own words, with a seafood-led menu (its signature is Grouper in a Bag) plus burgers and pasta.
- Where
- 2401 N Ocean Ave, by Riviera Beach Municipal Beach.
- Good to know
- Named, its site says, for a lagoon fisherman who ferried people to safety in the 1928 hurricane.

Ocean Ave Bar & Kitchen
Best for: cocktails and seafood after the beach

Build your Singer Island night
Three pairings, each kept to one part of the island.
A marina evening in Palm Beach Shores
Sailfish Marina (98 Lake Drive) and The Buccaneer (142 Lake Drive) are both on Lake Drive in Palm Beach Shores. Start with a drink or an early bite at Sailfish Marina with the marina in view, then have dinner at The Buccaneer, or the other way round.
At Sailfish Marina, pick up frozen shrimp or bait in the gift shop and toss it to the jacks and other fish off the dock. It's one of John's favorite things to do there. Pelicans will show up for their share, so toss it low and close to the dock and hold off while they're hovering: Florida prohibits feeding pelicans, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission explains why it harms them.
Make a day of it before dinner. The marina is home to a fleet of sportfishing charter boats, and its water taxi runs out to Peanut Island and on a 90-minute narrated tour. John has taken the tour several times, and the guides are full of stories about the island of Palm Beach, the Lake Worth Lagoon, the Rybovich marina, Peanut Island and Singer Island itself. Check the marina's water taxi and charter fleet pages for current schedules, prices and booking.
A beach day that runs into dinner
Johnny Longboats, Castaway's, Two Drunken Goats and Ocean Ave Bar & Kitchen are on the same stretch of Ocean Avenue, by Riviera Beach Municipal Beach. Spend the afternoon at the beach, then pick by mood: seafood at Johnny Longboats, cocktails at Ocean Ave, the game at Castaway's or a casual stop at Two Drunken Goats. Check the beach's posted rules and warning flags before you swim.
A resort dinner on the oceanfront
Make ONA Coastal Cuisine, inside the Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort & Spa, the destination. The restaurant says it is open to the public, with on-site valet parking. If you aren't staying at the hotel, the restaurant is your reason to be there; leave the pool and beach services to hotel guests unless the resort tells you otherwise.
Before you go

- Look up parking before you go and follow posted signs; each town and property sets its own rules.
