The Jupiter Riverwalk: A Local's Guide

The Jupiter Riverwalk is the Town of Jupiter's public path along the Intracoastal. It is the best free thing in town: a waterfront walk past marinas, restaurants and the Indiantown Road bridge, with dinner at one end and a sunset on the water the whole way.

Here is where it runs, where to park, what you can bring, what happens on it, and what is still being built.

What the Riverwalk is

The Riverwalk is a Town-built public path along the eastern shore of the Intracoastal Waterway. When it is finished, the Town plans about 2.5 miles of continuous public waterfront, from the Jupiter Ridge Natural Area in the south up to the Jupiter Inlet.

It has been built in phases, and it is not one unbroken path yet. Along the finished sections you get:

• a wide path, up to 15 feet in places, shared by walkers and bikes
• lighting and observation areas
• public docks and fishing spots
• public restrooms and parking

The stretch most people walk

The busiest section runs through the heart of it, around the Indiantown Road bridge:

• Jupiter Yacht Club. Just south of the bridge, the path runs along the Jupiter Yacht Club marina, where the Town lists public day slips and public parking. Café des Artistes, a French bakery and bistro, and Dive Bar Restaurant both sit on the water here.
• The Plaza Down Under. Under the east span of the Indiantown Road bridge is the Town's event plaza, formerly called the Riverwalk Events Plaza. It is shaded, breezy and home to the Sunday market.
• Harbourside Place. North of the bridge, the path runs along the waterfront at Harbourside Place, with its restaurants, hotel, marina and amphitheater. Our Harbourside Place guide covers it in detail.

From there, the Riverwalk continues north toward Burt Reynolds Park, the US-1 bridge and the inlet. Walking from the Yacht Club to Harbourside and back is an easy after-dinner loop.

Where to park

The Town lists free public parking at several Riverwalk access points, including:

• Jupiter Yacht Club (Riverwalk public spaces)
• The Plaza Down Under, which does not open before 8:30 a.m.
• Jupiter Ridge Natural Area, at the south end
• Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum and the DuBois Pioneer Home, toward the inlet

The Harbourside Place garages are another option: the first two hours are free.

On weekend evenings in season and during events, the closest lots fill first. Park a little farther out and walk in.

Dogs, bikes and the rules

• Dogs are welcome on a leash. Bring bags and clean up after them.
• Bikes are allowed on the path, but some sections, including the crossing near the lagoon bridge, ask riders to walk their bikes. Follow the posted signs, and slow down around the restaurant stretch, where it gets crowded.
• Hours: the path is lit along its finished sections, but individual parks and lots keep their own hours. Check the posted signs, especially at the Plaza Down Under lot.

Paddling, fishing and the water

The Riverwalk has public docks and fishing spots along the way. Follow the posted rules and Florida fishing license requirements.

Burt Reynolds Park, at the north end of this stretch, has boat ramps on its west side and a beach for launching kayaks and paddleboards on its east side.

One correction worth making, because it comes up a lot: you will hear that Jupiter Yacht Club has its own kayak launch. It does not. The water access people mean is the Town's public Riverwalk, which runs through the property and is open to everyone. What happens on the Riverwalk

The Plaza Down Under is the Town's event space. The main recurring and upcoming events:

• The Jupiter Green & Artisan Market runs every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., year-round, rain or shine, with produce, food, plants and local makers. It is under the bridge, not inside Harbourside, though the two are a short walk apart.
• Jupiter HarbourFest runs October 16–17, 2026, starting with a Friday tasting at Harbourside and moving to the Plaza Down Under on Saturday.
• Hay Jupiter, a Town country-music festival, was held at the plaza in April 2026.
• The Palm Beach Holiday Boat Parade comes up the Intracoastal in early December, and the Riverwalk is one of the best places in town to watch it.

Where to eat along it

The restaurants on the path itself are the Harbourside Place lineup (The Woods Jupiter, Ruth's Chris, Tommy Bahama and more), plus Café des Artistes and Dive Bar Restaurant at the Jupiter Yacht Club marina. Café des Artistes is a French bakery and bistro, so it is the breakfast stop for a morning walk.

What is still being built

The Riverwalk is still being finished. Town budget documents program work on the remaining pieces, including:

• a connector of about 650 feet over land and 550 feet over the water, with a kayak launch and shade structures, scheduled for construction in 2026
• a "living shoreline" at the base of the Plaza Down Under
• a gap near the Pelican Club, where the owner has granted the rights needed to complete the path
• a Riverwalk connection built into the Love Street project near the inlet

Timelines move, so treat these as plans, not promises. The Town's Riverwalk pages have the current status.

When to go

• Early morning is the quietest. You get the water mostly to yourself, and in summer it is the only comfortable time for a long walk.
• Around sunset is the busiest and the best: the light over the Intracoastal, the restaurants filling up, the boats heading in.
• From June through September, bring water and plan for heat and afternoon storms. Much of the path has little shade.

Living on the Riverwalk

For a few homes, the Riverwalk is part of the address. **Jupiter Yacht Club** is five condominium buildings with a marina of about 80 slips, and the path runs right along the water there, with Harbourside a short walk north. In the Pointe, the original building, the ground-floor residences even have private stairs from the patio down to the marina. It is the rare Jupiter address where a morning walk, a boat slip and dinner out all start at your door, and the beach is a few minutes' drive.

The trade-off is that a public path means public activity: walkers, cyclists and event crowds, right below your windows. If you are considering a home along it, visit at the busiest times, not just the quiet ones.
