Royal Palm Beach: The Everyday-Ease Choice

Royal Palm Beach is a Village with a lot going on, and it deserves to be judged on its own terms. The Village's Parks and Recreation department lists twenty named parks and facilities, along with a Recreation Center, a Cultural Center and Commons Park and Sporting Center, plus youth sports providers and a range of senior programs. That adds up to a rhythm where weekends are easier to fill without creating your own agenda at home. Westlake: New-City Energy and a Different Structure

Westlake is an incorporated city, and a recent one. Its own history page says residents voted on incorporation in June 2016, on former agricultural land that became a planned community. The same history says the city charter was written not to duplicate services already provided by the Seminole Improvement District, a special-purpose government the city describes as responsible for infrastructure such as water and wastewater, stormwater, roads and parks. A newer city with its own government, working alongside a separate improvement district, is a materially different arrangement from the Loxahatchee lifestyle. Jupiter Farms: The Other Acreage Conversation

If you have already decided you want acreage, Loxahatchee is not your only direction. Jupiter Farms is the northern conversation. The U.S. Census Bureau tracks it as a census-designated place in northern Palm Beach County, and it has a community park of its own: Jupiter Farms Park, a 56.48-acre county district park on Horseman Drive that Palm Beach County lists with an equestrian facility, ball fields, a playground and a pavilion. The point is not that one acreage direction is better. It is that a north-county orientation leads to a different surrounding geography and a different daily pattern than the Wellington side of the county. Someone drawn toward Jupiter and northern Palm Beach County may well put Jupiter Farms on the shortlist. Someone who wants to be closer to the Wellington-side lifestyle may not.

Once the Rhythm Is Clear, the Shortlist Gets Smaller
